Dating from ca. 1870 this Stunning 19th Century Victorian Walnut Antique Davenport Whatnot has a raised back with an inlaid sloping lid and the interior has several stationary divides with pen holder. Below is a writing slope that has the original wonderful worn embossed leather writing surface. The lid is hinged and has storage inside. This fine antique davenport has a what not design base with two tiers and turned upright supports. This beautiful antique desk stands on turned bun feet, has beautiful charm and character and the piece has aged to a warm Walnut shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
