Description
This 1930s Art Deco mirror is a real statement piece.
The mirror is made up of 25 individual mirrored sections. The large centre plate has a good bevelled edge all round.
The 24 coloured mirrored sections are traditional Art Deco colours, peach and green. Each piece has a good bevelled edge all round. They add that striking factor to this superb period mirror.
The mirror is in reasonable condition for its age, the centre plate has no deep scratches, nibbles or chips. There is some age related discolouration on some of the coloured glass (see pics) which is to be expected, this can be seen on close inspection but when hung is less visible.
None of the above however detracts from this unique beauty. Check out the pics, I have taken some in day light and some indoors to show the patina on some of the coloured pieces.
The reflectivity on all 25 pieces is good with no misting at all.
All the mirrored pieces are mounted on a wooden backboard, the centre plate and the outer coloured sections are glued to the backboard. Mirrors of this period were generally glued rather than clipped.
This is a fantastic mirror from a period where quality was the norm.
