Unusual Victorian Walnut Jewellery Box

Unusual late 19th Century (c.1880) Victorian antique walnut jewellery box. Although the box appears to be veneered in three different woods it is actually three different types of walnut. The top has a central shield shaped mother of pearl vacant cartouche, the front with matching keyhole escutcheon. The box has been re-lined in a plush pink velvet to compliment the original ruched pink satin lining to the lid (now fixed). It has a working lock and key. 28cm x 20cm x 15cm high
