Very Fine & Early Antique Afshar Tribal Rug - South Persia

This is a very beautiful and early afshar weaving dating to the third quarter of the 19th Century (1850-1875). Finely woven with three rows of terracotta coloured weft threads and tiny knots. Camel coloured ground with six shrub-like crowned devices. notice the abstract stickman towards bottom left side inside the field. This is a documented pattern seen in last two images. there only has been that example and my example here that I have come across in thirty years of rug dealing. It has all over low pile. sides have been rebound the way in which it was originally made. Ends are even and stopped.
