Koos Limburg Jnr. was born in the Netherlands, but has lived in Scotland since 1994 Over the years he has build up a well established and well respected antique business by participation only on important antique fairs in the UK as well as at the continent. A very interesting miniature wax carving by: Manna de Wijs-Mouton The Hague 1873-1947 With the interesting subject of a silver / gold smith. It is known that Manna de Wijs-Mouton was working in the Medieval way. In 1918 she had her first exhibition in The Hague of her work. Dated and signed on the reverse of the original frame “ de Goudsmid (the goldsmith) May 1918 Manna de Wijs- Mouton, with a small drawing of a goldsmith hammer, this wax carving was specially made for her first exhibition in 1918 in the gallery d’Autretsch in The Hague. the wax carving has the following text on the front: Tot eer van God en Kerk ( Too the glory of God and Church It is also known that in 1930 there was an advertisement of her sculptures in an English lady’s fashion magazine.
