Victorian Parkins & Gotto Jewellery Box Antique Leather Chest London Circa 1870

Beautiful Victorian leather jewellery box manufactured by the renowned William Parkins & Henry Gotto of Oxford Street, London, circa 1870. Leather with gold detail and elaborate initials. Two removal trays beautifully lined with original blue velvet. No key. Inside marked in gold letters: Parkin & Gotto, Oxford St, circa 1870. Established in 1852, Parkin & Gotto of London were specialists in leather cases and luggage. The company excelled for over 50 years offering a wide range of high quality goods. In 1860 The Society of Arts awarded them a silver medal for their writing case. They received royal approval and were Court Stationers in 1893.
