A fine All Original example of a vintage Art Deco, Westminster chiming French wall clock, by maker, Stem.
• Deeply grained and patinated Walnut cabinet of simple Deco lines.
• Hinged full-length fluted front door with canted corners, and beautifully hand-carved vine fruit garniture.
• Twin glazed door viewing tablets. (The upper tablet to view the dial, the lower table with silvered surround and floral decoration).
• Period classic Stem signed chrome chapter ring dial, with bold black Arabic numerals.
• Dial marked “Made in France” and finished with its pair of black skeleton style Deco hands secured by a threaded collet.
• Quality 8-day Westminster chiming French movement has 8 x hammers. Chiming the quarters and hours on 2 x sets of vertical hanging rods (and a ‘chime / silent’ lever should it be required).
• Large Deco period octagon shaped, nickel pendulum bob.
A French Deco wall clock of full proportion and skilled craftmanship, delivering a smooth, yet deep, resonate chiming tone, synonymous with its rod dimensions and expansive cabinet aperture.
