Description
UK Postage Only For This Item
The watch has a 15-jewel Swiss hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the name Tavannes Watch Co, a company founded in 1895 and financed by the Schwöb family. It appears that Schwöb Frères created the name Cyma as a brand name for Tavannes watches sold through the Schwöb Frères network.
The watch is an excellent wearable size at 28mm wide excluding the winding crown, and 36mm high excluding the fixed wire lugs. The case is 900 silver and there are Continental hallmarks on the inside of the hinged case back. The front and sides of the case have general light surface marking, some unevenness to the hinged case back.
The case and movement are not original to each other but of approximately the same age, and they fit very well together with the movement sitting safely and securely in
The curved lens has light marking but is very acceptable.
The dial is signed with the Cyma name and has impressive exploding numbers.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
All prices include UK postage (excluding Northern Ireland)... no international postage for this item.
All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
