Description
The watch has a Swiss 17 jewel Landeron 248 hand-winding movement which is working nicely.
The watch measures 36mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is chrome plated and it is in beautiful condition, just a little wear to the back.
The lens is in lovely condition (quite a lot of reflection showing in the photos).
The signed dial is in its original finish with original hands. Two subsidiary dials, one for constant seconds and the other to record up to 30 minutes. This second dial has large markers at three, six and nine minutes. These were aimed at the business man who made international telephone calls which were very expensive at the time. The calls were rounded to chargeable chunks of three minutes and so watchmaking companies came up with this scale to help people control the duration of their conversation. This recording dial re-sets just to the left of zero.
The dial is signed Wega, a brand name registered by Wega Watch Sa of Grenchen, Switzerland, in 1950.
A later leather strap has been fitted.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.

All of our watches are checked over before listing, and are also checked for accuracy which is usually within around +/- two to three minutes over 24 hours (unless otherwise stated), which is considered respectable for a vintage watch.
We are a Vat registered company and all purchases are covered by Consumer Regulations.
Credit / debit card purchases can be made over the telephone on 01386 750238 or you can proceed via the red 'Buy Now' button on each listing page.
We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
