Description
William IV rosewood library chair
This William IV rosewood library chair was made circa 1830.
It has the delightful, upturned tulip legs to the front with the original brass cup castors.
This wonderful chair is covered in fine leather and hand dyed in our autumn leaves colour by our specialist restorer. It is hand dyed before the final antique finish is built up, a skilful and time-consuming job. The finish gives the impression that the leather has been on the chair all its life, and ready to serve for another 100 years.
It is fascinating to think what the original owner of this chair would be reading in the newspaper of the day, it could have been the pride that John Nash’s reconstruction of Buckingham Palace had finished, or that London was now the worlds’ largest city, after overtaking Peking! This was not for long but would have made interesting reading.
Imagine relaxing back in this wonderful chair after a hard day’s work and letting all your stresses float away as you enjoy its comfort.
