Description
Get your marching orders and don't forget your compass!
This is a nice example of a Ww1 Verners Patent Military Compass Mark VII, perfect for historians and collectors of military antiques. Made of brass and used by British military during Ww1. Its durable construction and smooth movement make it reliable and accurate piece from Ww1.
Offset glass viewing window with the name 'Verner Patent' stamped to the left of the hinged lid and the version VII to the right side. Made of brass with the signatory blackened finish to the lid, hairline marker on the glass, hinged prismatic sight guide and charming mother of pearl etched dial. Bezel lock to the right and dial lock for transport on the same side. There is also a finger holding button to the left side, plus all the usual markings around the case, and a lanyard ring for attaching it to your belt.
The Verners compass was made by several well know manufactures from 1895 onwards and the Verner Patent model was thought to be made from 1905 onwards.
Still useable on a daily basis after all this time.
