Ernst Stierhof [born 1919] was a German portraitist, restorer and genre painter (born 1919 in Munich), son of the architect Hans Stierhof, self-taught study of painting during his school days in Munich, first instruction in painting by his uncle on his father's and mother's side, initially a goldsmith apprenticeship, 1936 Reich winner in a professional competition the goldsmith, 1938 journeyman's examination as a goldsmith with 1st prize, participation in the Second World War in France, Russia and Africa, American prisoner of war 1945-48, then freelance and restorer at the private collection at Weißenstein Castle in Pommersfelden, active in Grünwald near Munich.
