Henry Weigall a known Victorian era British artist who specialised in portraits, he was born in 1829 in Kensington London. His father was Henry Weigall Senior, his mother Selina (Smith) Weigall. He lived with his parents at there home address in Marylebone London in the year 1851. His siblings Selina Frances (Weigall) James,Theyre Weigall also Alfred Weigall. He married Lady Rosa Sophia Mary (Fane) Weigall who became his wife on the 15th August 1866 in the known Westminster Abbey in London. Lady Rosa was the daughter of John the 11th Earl of Westmoreland & Priscilla Anne Wellesley-Pole. He had 2 children who where Rachel Weigall & William Ernest George Archibald Weigall Pm 1st Bt. He died in Thanet Kent in 1925.
Henry Weigall's works have been exhibited and sold at auction houses & museums around the world like Christie’s, Hereford Museum & Art Gallery, Keble College, University of Oxford, Hertford Magistrate’s Court, Christ Church, University of Oxford, Sandwich Guildhall, National Portrait Gallery London, National Trust Hanbury Hall, National Trust Stourhead, National Trust, Lanhydrock, Ramsgate Library, Cusworth Hall Museum & Park, Ridley Hall Theological College, Cambridge which was for the Painting of the Hon George Fitzroy Somerset who would later become 3rd Baron Raglan which sold at Christie’s. The artist died in 1925.
