John Cyril Harrison - Artist

John Cyril Harrison (1895-1985) was a very well known wildlife artist, specialising in birds. He was particularly popular at major sporting galleries, especially the Tryon Gallery in Dover St, London (where this print was originally sold). He studied at the Slade School of Art, and by all accounts, improved his knowledge of anatomy by the practice of taxidermy! He moved to Norfolk and many of his pictures depict Norfolk landscapes and birds, although he also painted in Scotland and spent some time in Africa.
