Gentleman's Antique original and highly unusual Robert Raikes commemorative English pocket watch chain religious golden gilt fob. Similar to the fobs I have supplied to Pinewood Studios. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was very difficult to photograph). Measures; 3.2cm height (including the top ring), 2.3cm diameter and weighs 4 grams. The front depicts the Georgian Robert Raikes to centre and is stamped around the circumference in slightly raised script; Robert Raikes. The back is clearly stamped (again in slightly raised script); 150TH Anniversary Of Robert Raikes Founder Of Sunday Schools 1780-1930. Original robust top ring. Clean bright condition with just a little overall wear / patina and light surface scratches commensurate with age.
