A delightful set of 4 Arts & Crafts Cotswold School Clissett Style Chairs by Gordon Russell made C.1920. These are a lovely set of very early Gordon Russell “Clissett’ style rush seated chairs with original Gordon Russell copper label to one of the chairs underneath the seat. This design was similar to, but earlier than Russells “Bedale Chair”. These are surprisingly solid and comfortable as well as stylish and light enough to move around with ease and may have been designed by Edward Gardiner. A little humble in looks with a mix of turned ash and oak with hand made pegs and ready to place and enjoy. A super set from Gordon Russell perfect for a period or modern setting.
