Antique Bidjar Rug 2.22m x 1.24m

A fabulous antique Bidjar rug, hand woven circa 1900, possibly a little earlier. The design features a large hexagonal medallion on a plain (ish, more of which later!) camel field surrounded by an indigo border and wonderfully random inner border. I have seen many rugs with figures but this is the first with what appear to be a couple of scorpions! This rug is in good condition with light, age related wear, very slightly heavier on a section of the border (see photos). Fringes and selvedges are secure and it has been professionally cleaned.
