Exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique George IV English sterling silver mustard pot; an addition to our 19th century silverware collection. This exceptional and large antique silver mustard pot, in sterling standard, has a circular rounded form. The surface of this silver mustard pot is embellished with impressive finely chased layered foliate decoration. The shaped upper rim is encompassed with a cast scrolling leaf decorated border. This fine sterling silver mustard pot retains the original hallmarked domed hinged cover, ornamented with a chased floral festoon design encircling a plain lobed finial. The posterior of the cover is further ornamented with a ribbed lobed thumbpiece, to the upper portion of the hinge. This exceptional mustard pot is fitted with a cast scrolling handle enveloped with leaf designs. This exceptional antique mustard pot retains the original gilded interior, continuing to the shaped rim. This impressive example of antique silverware is supplied with an associated hallmarked London sterling silver spoon crafted by Elizabeth Eaton in 1847. Such large examples, in this substantial weight, are rare to the market; this mustard pot is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire. Origin: London, England
