The chain measures 34cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The T-bar is hallmarked for 1896 and the clasp for 1897, the two components have different maker’s marks.
Each of the graduated links has the lion silver mark but they are quite rubbed.
The chain comes with a silver fob with a rose gold wash to the central shield which has the Aberdeen Corporation Coat of Arms together with the name Bon Accord. Bon Accord was a founder member of the Aberdeenshire and District Football Association and it is believed this fob was awarded to the Juvenile arm, hence the inscription on the reverse of the fob, ‘Ajfa Charity 1896’. The fob is hallmarked for 1895.
