This is an exceptional, fine and impressive, large antique Victorian English sterling silver combination scent bottle / vinaigrette; an addition to our diverse collectable silverware collection.
This exceptional and large antique Victorian sterling silver combination vinaigrette and scent bottle has an oval cylindrical shaped form.
This exceptional bottle is comprised of a cut glass body, overlaid with impressive sterling silver covering embellished with pierced and embossed floral decoration, incorporating interlacing scrolling leaf and daffodil designs.
The piece retains the original hallmarked screw fit cover to the antique scent bottle, ornamented with further scrolling leaf and floral decoration, on a matte background.
The opposing end of the vessel is fitted with a hallmarked hinged cover embellished with decoration reflecting that of the scent bottle cover.
This antique vinaigrette cover opens to reveal the original hinged grille and gilt interior.
The gilded grille is ornamented with engraved and pierced decorated bordered scrolling leaf designs, accented with a central quatrefoil motif.
Such large combination scent bottle and vinaigrettes are very rare the market.
