Art Deco Elgin American Vanity Purse Powder & Rouge Compact with Wristlet c.1920

On offer is this most attractive Art Deco flapper era vanity purse by Elgin American which dates circa 1920. The case is rectangular with canted corners and has attached broad link wristlet chain. It is made of chromium metal with attractive machine turned pattern. The lid has enamel design with light green and purple enamel bands on black enamel ground. The case has firm hinge and secure ball and hook catch. Inside in the base is a covered loose powder well with hinged lid which opens and closes correctly and the powder well beneath is empty. A double sided polished metal mirror separates the powder well from the rouge compartment under the lid. This circular well is also empty but retains the original used puff. This Art Deco vanity compact is offered in very good condition. The chromium metal is clean and untarnished and free of dents and dings. The enamel lid has no chips or cracks and no scratches. The interior is clean and complete and the mirror is clear and reflective. Thank you for looking.
