Description
Here we have a beautiful antique plate, manufactured by Booths England in a unique design. Extremely rare find and every collector’s dream! An original piece with a pattern especially designed and presented to Tiffany & Co Ny, and picked by them to order for one of their early collections. The plate has an imprinted (not stamped) Booths back mark, usually used around mid 19th century or earlier. Dated as a 19th century piece by two auction houses’ valuation departments and also described as “obviously of some high quality” by them, this great piece of art has been made using two techniques – printing and hand painted elements, which is easily noticeable from the photos.
A lovely scene with yellow birds, beautiful cherry blossoms and golden filigree elements over stunning cobalt blue, finished with scalloped edges, rimmed with gold.
With probably only a few of these amazing items survived in the whole world and just one on the open market for sale, it is a challenge to value this piece of art, but it is also a great acquisition for every self-esteemed collector.
