This is a fine example of a Northern longcase clock being of the taller and wider style. The newly restored dial looks amazing and benefits from a subsidiary seconds dial and date dial too, both working and complimented by the original hands.
The warm flame mahogany case stands an impressive 7ft 8 inches tall and 25 1/2 inches wide with a lovely patina and is in excellent condition with the turned pillars to the hood framing the dial beautifully.
The eight day rack striking movement has benefitted from a complete restoration and new lines with the bell having a lovely mellow tone.
Little is known of this maker - Paul Greenwood, Halifax - but the clock dates from circa 1840 and comes with my three year guarantee and delivery is available.
Clockwise specialises in longcase and bracket clocks and with global clients from the world of business, film, sport, royalty and aristocracy - yet more than happy with traditional clients - Clockwise has an unrivalled reputation for excellence and superb service.
