Gold Locket & Chain

This is a wonderful solid gold locket & chain, early 19th century with later chain, 15ct locket with 9ct chain. This locket has been used as a piece of mourning jewellery and still contains the original memento, this, however can be removed should you wish to just use only photos. We prefer to leave items as they are when they come in and leave these decisions to prospective purchasers. "Memento mori" translated from Latin means - “Remember you must die.” The message dates back as far as the 16th century.
