Large 19th Century Japanese Charger Plate c.1880

Here we have a fine Meji period (c.1880) Japanese charger of large proportions. As you can see the charger has great colour. It is in perfect condition with a lovely ping when holding it. The decoration is excellent and full of symbolism both painted and gilded. The reverse has a wonderful deep blue border and a raised footed base.
