Description
Here we have a wonderful Italian mahogany chest of drawers or commode. As you can see the chest has great colour and patina. The top has an inlaid marquetry border and straight cross banded edge. There are three drawers below which open from the sides so no need for handles. The top drawer is fully fitted with compartments and two boxes with sliding lids. The internal lids are finished with satinwood and a tulip wood border and ebony string inlay. The main drawers have hand-cut dovetail joints and oak linings. The top and middle drawers have stunning Satinwood inlay in the form of a bird and foliage and a classical possibly Roman recumbent figure. A super chest of wonderful design and proportions in superb retail condition ready for your home.
