Large Antique JA & S John Atkins & Sons Sterling Silver Guilloche Enamel Butterfly Brooch / Pin c.1915

Offered for your consideration is this attractive art nouveau butterfly brooch measuring a larger than average 5.7 cm in width across the top wing span. This butterfly brooch is made of solid silver and is marked to the back Sterling Silver with the maker's initials Ja&S for the prestigious silversmith John Atkins & Sons. The brooch is also stamped with the number 2369 which is probably the design number. This stunning butterfly has golden yellow guilloche enamel wings with black veining wing edging as well as circles with golden yellow and red. The butterfly has orange enamelled segmented body with black enamel eyes.
