Large Antique Overmantle Mirror, Italian, 3 Panel, Triptych, Victorian c.1900

This is a large antique overmantle mirror. An Italian, three panel triptych mirror, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1900. It is of fine proportion to mount above a grand fireplace. Displays a desirable aged patina throughout. Cream ground accentuated with flourishes of gilt finish. Original mirror plates in good order with desirable light foxing. Breakfront form with prominent crown moulding. Oval central mirror flanked by a pair of taller plates. Quality bevelled glass presents a clear, bright reflection. Corinthian pilasters frame the taller side mirrors, with bold, gilt capitols. Distinctive Putto masque to central panel, situated above the oval mirror with wings spread, the relief form issues foliate garlands outwards. Further distinguished with sash garland and foliate decor throughout. Dressed with a pair of brass hanging loops to rear for ease of wall mounting. This is a charming antique overmantle mirror. Impressively large of proportion, providing a statement piece for above the fireplace. Delivered polished and ready to mount.
