Large Victorian Mahogany Pedestal Desk

A beautiful Victorian mahogany desk of good large proportions. It has an arrangement of 9 drawers around a central kneehole. Each drawer has brass ring pull handles and each pedestal has a plinth base with castors below. The top of the desk has a good quality tooled leather writing surface. The back of the desk is nicely finished so it would look equally as good in the centre of a room or against a wall. The desk is in good condition for its age and has been well looked after. It has a lovely rich patina and the drawers open well. The inside of the drawers are generally clean and tidy and it comes with a working key. There are normal signs of age and use, some small knocks and light surface marks and some minor old shrinkage splits but nothing untoward or detrimental and the leather surface is in good condition. The desk has been cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
