Pocket Watch Chain Compass Fob 1920s Large Silver Nickel Antique Shield Fob

Gentleman's antique pocket watch chain silver nickel chunky and highly ornate compass shield fob. (Please excuse the reflections/dark shadows in the pictures - was extremely difficult to photograph). Measures; 3.7 cm height (including the top ring), 2.1cm width, 5mm depth and weighs a respectable 8.2 grams. Wonderful shield shaped fob which is beautifully adorned to the front with elaborate engine turned scroll work around. To centre is a slightly raised, circular shaped compass with brass retaining ring and original bevel edge glass (not acrylic), ivory coloured dial with a very attractive black starburst design radiating outwards and black directional markers. Original blued steel and silver needle/pointer which moves freely. Decorated to the back with an engine turned 'zig zag' and dot work decoration with two highly polished bands which are both free from any initials or inscriptions. Robust and secure big steel top ring to attach to a Gentleman's pocket watch chain. Excellent clean and bright condition with no wear, just a little (micro) bit of overall patina, one or 2 absolutely minute 'flea nibbles' to the bevel edge of the glass and small indentation to back (only visible if caught in the right light and have tried to capture it in my photographs) - all commensurate with age.
