Description
This early 19th Century (c.1820) Regency antique mahogany desk chair has many of the desirable features with the sabre legs, rope twist back slat and sabre legs.
When this chair was made England was still wallowing in the celebrations of Nelson and his victory at Trafalgar. The black line on the back rail was in commemoration of his death at the battle, the rope twist was a pointer to the rope used on the ships of the line, the sabre legs a reflection of the sword, and finally the drop in seats known as Trafalgar seats.
The desk chair has the elegant scroll arms, the top rail with the lovely carved scroll to each end and a black line inlay.
The drop in seat we have covered in a neutral colour, this will suit most if not all interiors. The chair stands on good sabre shaped legs.
These chairs can be used for many uses but do make useful chairs to put behind your desk.
On occasions customers have been disappointed to miss an item as they e-mailed their enquiry instead of phoning, I would recommend that if you wish to get the piece, please call rather than e-mail. We are very friendly and easy to deal with.
This Regency mahogany desk chair is a green product and has not affected the environment we live in.
We spend time choosing the best product, an antique item that must meet the strict criteria to be placed in Hingstons of Wilton stock.
