Description
Lovely pair of 19th Century Edme Samson figures after 18th Century Chelsea of 2 putti playing with goats. Each has a gold anchor mark to the back. The figures are in front of a bocage style shrub. The modelling and painted detail is lovely.

The Fancy Fox has clarified that the Samson Chelsea Style Pair of Figure Groups Putti Playing with Goats (LA57754) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 19th Century
condition
Condition is very good; there are some small losses to the bocage and to the tips of 2 branches. 2 of the bunches of leaves held have been slightly chipped. Fingers and toes (and horns) are all intact but the fingers and toes appear unglazed. One has a dark mark under the base but I can see no evidence of restoration above.
