Description
A very sweet English Regency porcelain miniature basket with lobed walls and rim and simple raised strap handle with lightly moulded reeded detail, picked out in gilt. The walls are filled with an underglaze mazarine blue ground, embellished with gilding, and reserving two floral painted reserves. The centre has an unusual and charming scene of a country girl stood in an arable landscape. She faces away with two woven carrying baskets of differing sizes hung over her elbows. All very well painted and edged with gilt and finished with a wide gilded rim. Unmarked, most probably Spode, c.1815-1820.

It measures 10.2cm (4") by 8.9cm (3 1/2") wide and 7cm (2 3/4") high.
