This set of 8 'Hepplewhite style' ladder-back dining chairs were made in the Edwardian period. The chairmaker has used a drawing from Hepplewhite’s book of furniture design. This classic dining chair, with the pierced and carved wavy splats, delicate carving to the shoulders and the moulded front legs with the H stretchers. Having the H stretchers joining the legs makes these most durable and add the strength to support the 21st dinner guest! The bowed upholstered seats in a blue material that is held in place with brass studs. Each armchair has the out swept arms and fine carving on the hand grip. A set that consists of a pair of armchairs and 6 side chairs.
