Lovely pair of Victorian Minton majolica figures as match holders or figural salts. Known as the Hogarth boy and girl, designed by Albert Carrier-Belleuse. Modelled as a young lad and lady in traditional dress, seated on rocks and holding oval baskets under their arms. Typical rich Minton majolica colours and highly glazed. Fully marked to the base and with the date code for 1872.
