Victorian Pine Kitchen Larder Cupboard by John Curtis & Son of Leeds

A useful compact Victorian pine cupboard dating to the second half of the 19th century. This piece is perfect for anyone who loves old pine and has a country look which will suit a cottage or farmhouse setting. Made from solid pine the cupboard is ideal for use in a kitchen or dining room, well suited for use as a small larder or a storage space for pots, pans and crockery. The cupboard has a single panelled door which opens to reveal two removable shelves. The door is fitted with a brass knob and keyhole escutcheon, although sadly the door lock has been removed. The back of the cupboard has a makers stamp for John Curtis & Son, shop fitters from Leeds, who traded from 1879-1874. The wood is very characterful with a waxed finish which has a low sheen. Measurements height-112.5cms width-80cms at the top, 76cms at the base depth-33.5cms shelf height, top 29.5cms, middle 31.5cms, bottom 35cms shelf depth 27cms, shelf width 72cms The measurements are taken at the widest points. Condition The cupboard is generally in solid structural condition with many small cosmetic marks of age and use. There are some small gaps here and there and a few small old wood wormholes.
