Watch: Gents 1970s Meister-anker Automatic Wrist Watch

The Meister-Anker brand name was registered in 1968 by Quelle, a German mail-order company. They bought in watches from various German watch manufacturers such as Bernhard Förster, Gub, and Umf. This particular watch has a 25-jewel automatic watch by the manufacturer Herman Becker of Pforzheim. The movement is working nicely. The watch measures 32mm wide excluding the winding crown and 32mm high excluding the lugs. The gold tone case has a little rubbing and general light surface marking but overall the condition is good. The stainless steel case back states that the watch is 100% waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water and moisture. The lens is in lovely condition. The signed dial is in good original condition with original hands, seconds sweep and date display. This is an early form of quickset date where the hands are moved repeatedly backwards and forwards between quarter past midnight and 8.30pm. A new leather strap has been fitted.
