Ernest Race - Designer

Ernest Race was an influential furniture and textile designer working during the middle years of the 20th Century. Combining form and function with playful modern designs, his most celebrated designs were the Antelope chair used for the 1951 Festival of Britain Exhibition and his donkey bookcase of c1963. Today there are a growing number of collectors and decorators who admire the playful modernism of Race’s unique designs.
