1696 French Carved Oak Court Cupboard, Cottage size Livery Cupboard
This is a very attractive piece of carved oak furniture, the top section has the date 1696 carved into the centre of the cornice, this section has a long cupboard enclosed by 2 carved doors and a carved centre panel. Beneath there is a larger shelved cupboard enclosed by carved panel doors. The panels depict heraldic and geometric scenes in a Celtic style the carving is very attractive with a certain naive quality and a charming patina.
The cupboard is in good condition for its age, it is rustic in construction, all the woodworm is historic and is dead.
