Published by George Leighton, London 1859 & 1861 Both hardbacks bound in fairly recent quarter leather bindings with recent endpapers, extra illustrated title page to the front of the 1859 volume with all weekly parts present from January to June 1859. 1861 Volume Contents Run From July 6th - December 28th and includes the christmas supplement with the first appearance of the mistletoe by Anthony Trollope but lacking pages 301-302 & 535-536 with the weekly part of 28th September - 4th October missing. Each volume is illustrated throughout in black & white with numerous full page plates & illustrations among text, 1861 volume includes detailed content on the american civil war & slavery. Each book measures approx 16.5" x 12 inches
