Description
A Derby soft-paste porcelain figure of a grape seller, circa1760, seated upon a stump with a basket of grapes on his lap, pale family, patch/pad marks to the underside, 13.5cm high. Condition: Firing cracks to reverse of the stump and right ankle, Losses to flower and foliage at one side of the base and surprisingly sparse foliage on the other (though no sign of losses). Various tiny imperfections (e.g. loss of two buttons on coat, small firing adhesion, fleabite to neckerchief at the back, some glaze crazing. Examined under ultraviolet light - no restoration found.
