18th Century Small Elm Country Chest of Drawers
This is a lovely piece dating from around 1750, it is a small beautifully proportioned chest with 3 long drawers. The sides of the chest are panelled, the top is thin and made from 2 pieces of elm.
The fronts of the drawers are decoratively divided by deeply moulded panels, the handles and escutcheons are all copies but have been on the chest for many years and they look good, the chest stands on a bracket footed plinth.
The chest has an excellent patina, there is some gnarling to the top right corner and old repairs, all very acceptable with an old piece this age.
The chest stands 32” high, it is 32”wide and 21.5” deep.
