An 18th century, circa 1785, South Staffordshire Bilston enamel bird bonbonniere, the lid decorated with a bird and fruit in a landscape, with gilt (worn) metal mounts, and a white enamel interior. 6.8cm (2.7in) high. Condition: Expected hairlines on all sides externally and internally (see images). None disfiguring and no losses. Minor restoration on the bird’s lower breast (see image taken under ultraviolet light showing darker brown marks). Gilt on metal mounts worn.
