Boxed hallmarked solid silver 1/2 pink tankard / mug, knife, fork and spoon christening set.
Full Birmingham hallmark to the tankard with the date letter for 1917 and the makers mark for Edward Souter Barnsley.
The fork is again Birmingham but 1914 with the same maker.
The Knife and Fork are both hallmarked Sheffield 1917 with the makers mark for Cooper Brothers.
The set was put together in the presentation case which is original by the retailer J Stern, one of the top jewelers, silversmiths and Rolex clock agents in Johannesburg, South Africa at the time.
The half pint tankard is decorated with engine turned engraving with a Georian style and scrollwork handle.
There is a blank oval cartouche to the front.
The silver weight of the mug, fork and spoon combined is 240 grams.
The knife weighs 35.7 grams but part of that weight is the mother of pearl.
Apologies for any reflections in the pictures, these are not marks in the silver.
Happy to answer any questions.
