19th Century Biedermeier Birch Chest of Drawers

19th century biedermeier birch chest of drawers circa 1830. Swedish biedermeier commode with plenty of character. Fitted with 4 drawers of various dimensions.   top drawer forming part of the stepped detail below the top surface.   further drawers go flush and in front of the carcass to give a layered appearance, bottom deep drawer with partially ebonised half moon decoration. Working lock and key, escutheons formed into contrasting shield shapes. Standing on front bun feet and block feet to the rear. Due to the nature of the wood used for the bottom drawer it has developed a slight bow over the years, this has been improved with restoration.   age splits to veneer to top surface which are structurally sound.   expected minor surface marks and restorations to veneer.   recently re-finished and ready for everyday use. Rich golden birch colour.
