19th Century Pratt Ware Plate Entitled "The Strawberry Girl"

Offered for sale is an utterly charming plate produced by F.& R. Pratt entitled "The Strawberry Girl". Bordered in gold coloured geometric patterns, vines and a gilded rim. At it's centre is the beautiful depiction of the painting by Sir Joshua Reynolds entitled "The Strawberry Girl". Reynold's produced many paintings of children but is reported to have been particularly fond of this one. F. and R. Pratt of Fenton, England operated from 1847 to 1885, and came into prominence for the excellence of its coloured underglaze printing, notably on pot lids and tea ware.
