Aesthetic period Ecclesiastical English brass chandelier with three branches of three lights. Lovely chain details and crimped edge details/ Embossed black and read script translates Baptising and the holy spirit amen. Inner diameter 59.5cm.
The aesthetic movement was a late nineteenth century movement that championed pure beauty and 'art for art's sake' emphasising the visual and sensual qualities of art and design over practical, moral or narrative considerations.
The brass has been lightly cleaned to preserve naturally aged patina. The chandelier has been historically wired for electrical lighting but would need checked/re wired.
