Antique 0.78ct Ruby & 0.40ct Diamond 18ct Yellow Gold Bow Brooch c.1910

Stunning, fine and impressive antique 0.78 carat ruby and 0.40 carat diamond, 18ct yellow gold and platinum set bow brooch; part of our diverse antique Edwardian jewellery collections. This stunning, fine and impressive antique Edwardian brooch has been crafted in 18ct yellow gold with platinum settings. The brooch has been modelled in the form of a tied bow. The double-looped bow is ornamented with curvilinear arrangements of fifty-one channel set mixed cut rubies, totalling 0.78ct. The ruby formations to the loops are flanked with pavé set Dutch cut diamonds, and the ruby strands to the tails alternate with further diamonds, totalling 0.40ct. The central twisted knot of the bow is ornamented to either side with a single pavé set Dutch cut diamond, completing the design. The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clap fastening, and benefits from the added security of a safety chain and clap. This impressive brooch has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton Xl2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 carat gold and platinum. The brooch is supplied with an Idgl diamond and gemstone grading report card. Such original examples, in this very high quality, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate; this brooch is the finest of its type you could hope to acquire.
