Description
This is a beautiful Antique Sterling Silver Tablespoon or Serving Spoon from the mid 1700s. It’s a very special spoon and would be a fantastic way of serving vegetables or desserts.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a great present.
It was made by Thomas Evans and George Smith III and it was Hallmarked in London in 1770. The Hallmarks and maker’s marks are on the back of the neck of the spoon.
The bowl is serving or tablespoon sized and features a lovely scroll pattern on the back of it. The handle is tapered from the bowl to the handle and has a pretty curved end. On the back of the handle it has Mf elaborately engraved.
The Silver is shiny with a little tarnish in places. It’s over 250 years old and in very good condition.
It weighs 57g and measures 21cm in length (8 1/4 inches).
