Description
This is a very pretty solid Silver Fruit Knife from the early 1900s. It’s a lovely collector’s item and would be great for slicing pieces of fruit such as pears or apples.
It comes in a gift bag and would be a lovely present.
It has a hallmarked Sterling Silver blade and a beautiful etched Mother of Pearl handle featuring a design of ferns and flowers. It has a blank shield on one side. The blade folds neatly back into the handle.
It was made by Frederick Venour & Sons and it was hallmarked in Sheffield in 1918. The hallmarks and maker’s mark are on the side of the blade.
measurements
It’s a smaller sized knife measuring 9.7cm in length when fully open (just under 3 7/8 inches). It measures 6cm when closed (2 3/8 inches).

Beeches Vintage has clarified that the Antique 1918 Silver Fruit Knife (LA477227) is genuinely of the period declared with the date/period of manufacture being 1918
condition
It’s in good condition with the silver shiny. The end of the blade is very slightly bent which can be seen in the photos but shouldn’t affect its use.
